When I start to enter the ‘real adult world, it feels like all goals are not standardized, this made me lose direction in life. This makes me spend almost all my time at home. One of my routine during this period of time is watching my mom’s garden. The view of this garden tends not to change, it only changes when light shifts because of the weather or time of the day, they change the plants’ colors. This made me realize that searching for the purpose of life is a long journey, this searching process is what makes life more colorful. There are still a lot of unexplored subtle beauties inside a ‘repetitive’ life routine that I have yet to encounter. To represent this idea, I created a composition of repeating filled box shapes the same view, hills of flowering grass and ocean inspired by the sceneries in my mom’s garden. The woman in this work is a narrative element that tells the process of questioning one’s life, reflecting, and searching for a goal.
